The results of Poole Town Council election were, of course, not what we hoped for. Reform UK won a majority with 15 seats, and the Liberal Democrats won the remaining 6. Our thanks to the thousands of people across Poole who cast their votes for Labour candidates. To those who didn’t feel able to support us this time, we hope to win back your trust in the future. We’d like to thank our brilliant candidates, most of whom had never stood for election before, and all those who contributed to the campaign. We’d also like to commend candidates from all parties and none for having the courage to put themselves forward to serve their communities. We give our congratulations to the winning candidates, who will be in position for the next five years. They will now have to deliver for the whole of Poole. For the good of our town, we wish them success. But we will also hold them to account for their performance running the town council and to their promises made during the campaign. In the meantime, our fantastic MP and BCP councillors will continue to work hard for the people of Poole. 🐬🌹
